TL;DR:

Securitize will enable the direct issuance and redemption of stablecoins through Anchorage Digital Bank without third-party intermediaries.

The tokenization platform manages over $4 billion in assets linked to firms such as BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, and Hamilton Lane.

As of August 31, 99% of the reserves for the USDtb stablecoin ($530 million) were backed by BlackRock’s tokenized BUIDL fund.

The purpose of the new partnership between Anchorage Digital and Securitize is to integrate direct stablecoin issuance and redemption services geared toward institutional investors, strengthening regulated stablecoin infrastructure within the real-world asset (RWA) market.

The agreement allows Securitize to operate directly through Anchorage Digital Bank , an entity that holds a federal bank charter in the United States. Under this operational framework, custody and settlement remain centralized within a single supervised institution.

The technical infrastructure aims to streamline institutional capital flows by eliminating secondary providers in redemption operations. Official data indicates that this operational design could reduce friction in the settlement of structured investment vehicles.

Securitize currently supports more than $4 billion in tokenized financial instruments . This volume encompasses active institutional agreements with global asset managers such as BlackRock, Apollo, BNY, Hamilton Lane, KKR, and VanEck.

Anchorage Digital Bank’s operational catalog includes projects such as USDtb, structured in collaboration with Ethena Labs , and USA₮, developed jointly with Tether . According to Anchorage’s reserve report dated August 31, BlackRock’s BUIDL fund —tokenized specifically through Securitize —accounted for approximately 99% of the backing for the $530 million comprising USDtb.

Nathan McCauley, co-founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital , noted that the initiative seeks to enable institutions to manage federally supervised digital dollars through the same systems used to administer tokenized investment products.

Integration of Capital Markets and Federal Banking Rails

The link between supervised stablecoins and tokenized investment funds addresses a growing demand for payment mechanisms that operate with legal certainty. Data from Securitize suggests that using digital assets for settlement accelerates clearing compared to traditional banking systems.

Securitize, which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol SECZ, has focused its commercial deployment on developing rails for tradable securities. In March, the entity announced a collaborative program with the NYSE to build technology aimed at trading blockchain-based equities and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The new agreement expands Securitize’s technical capabilities to the monetary units used in transaction settlement, going beyond the scope of standalone securities. According to market reports, this model unifies the asset’s entire lifecycle, from issuance to its digital cash payment counterparty.

The institutional tokenization sector faces ongoing scrutiny regarding regulatory compliance and collateral backing. Market data reflects that tokenized U.S. Treasury funds have experienced sustained demand throughout the current year.

The convergence of a federally chartered banking entity and a tokenized securities issuer establishes an operational pathway for corporate participants to mitigate counterparty risk on their operational balance sheets.

The final technical rollout of the direct redemption service between both platforms will begin its phased institutional deployment during the current operating cycle.
