Strategy’s Michael Saylor believes Bitcoin (BTC) is entering a bull market, driven by banks and other traditional financial institutions. Recently, the company repurchased approximately $1.5 billion worth of its STRC stock, citing price stability.

Banks At The Center of Bitcoin Rebound

According to Saylor, banks will play a major role over the next two years as a mainstream rebound is expected. Banks are already expanding digital asset services across the board but with a keen focus on institutional investors.

This shift happened due to a slew of positive regulations in several jurisdictions that allowed stakeholders to increase their exposure. The ripple effect is that Saylor projects it will accelerate the market’s next bull phase.

He cited Bitcoin custody and collateral services, which have gained traction in the United States. Furthermore, tokenization will attract a new wave of investors, directly impacting momentum in digital assets.

The key is making Bitcoin and, by extension, other crypto assets, including stablecoins, more accessible to both retail and institutional users. Banks can provide custody for a range of products and offer collateral-based lending services without customers switching platforms.

Last year, institutional holders increased their exposure to the asset as corporate treasuries sought diversification. Massive institutional adoption led to new services designed to capture traditional capital.

“We’re moving back into a Bull market; you should normally track the 200-day moving average, and you can see we bounced off it about three months ago. We are back to a slight premium, but the chart looks exactly as expected. The headwinds are restricted trade policy, restricted foreign policy, etc.”

Policy watchers backing the sector noted that these headwinds might ease as friendlier rules are introduced. Notably, United States President Donald Trump has remained vocal about the country leading the Bitcoin and artificial intelligence (AI) race.

Other countries followed this path, launching crypto task forces and crypto reserves like the United States. If these efforts continue without major regulatory shocks, Bitcoin’s price will likely break out to new levels.

The asset currently trades at $82,832, up slightly today despite spot ETF outflows. A bull run would send the asset back into the six digits, but the timeline remains uncertain given market conditions.
