Grayscale has expanded in-kind subscriptions to ten of its cryptocurrency investment products , with minimum investment amounts ranging from $80,300 to $364,800 , depending on the fund.

The option allows eligible investors to contribute their digital assets directly in exchange for shares , without having to sell their holdings first and subscribe using cash.

The asset manager explained that this mechanism can reduce transaction costs and the challenges associated with self-custody, while making it easier to manage cryptocurrencies through traditional investment accounts.

Grayscale Adds Ten Funds to In-Kind Subscriptions

The available products include the Bitcoin Mini Trust ETF and Ethereum Staking Mini ETF , along with funds linked to Avalanche, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Solana, Sui, XRP, and Zcash .

Minimum investment requirements vary depending on the product and the conditions applicable to each transaction.

Steve Vanourny, Head of Index at Grayscale, said investors are looking for alternatives to manage their cryptocurrencies amid cybersecurity risks, including attacks targeting self-custodial wallets and DeFi protocols .

According to Vanourny, institutional custody allows investors to maintain exposure to digital assets through professionally managed investment products .

The company also noted that these products can be held in brokerage and retirement accounts , while supporting certain collateral arrangements and portfolio management activities.

SEC Authorized In-Kind Transactions for Crypto ETFs

Grayscale’s expansion was made possible by a decision from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) , which approved in-kind creations and redemptions for cryptocurrency exchange-traded products in July 2025.

That authorization allowed certain firms to deliver or receive the underlying assets directly, rather than conducting all transactions in cash.

Grayscale’s new offering extends access to eligible investors who meet the specific requirements of each product and its participating intermediaries .

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins said at the time that these transactions would reduce costs and improve efficiency for cryptocurrency investment products.
