TL;DR

ETF Inflows: Bitcoin ETFs recorded $528.4 million in net inflows Wednesday, led by BlackRock’s IBIT with $235 million and Fidelity’s FBTC with $212.7 million.

Institutional Demand: Bitcoin funds have attracted more than $1 billion in three sessions this week despite subdued Bitcoin volatility and cautious market conditions.

Market Outlook: Analysts say Bitcoin ETFs are showing renewed strength, but historical data suggests sustained inflows above $200 million per day are typically associated with stronger rallies.

Bitcoin ETFs attracted $528.4 million in net inflows on Wednesday , extending a strong week for the investment products despite Bitcoin trading within a relatively subdued range. Data from SoSoValue showed that BlackRock and Fidelity accounted for the majority of the day’s activity , reinforcing the role institutional investors continue to play in the market. The latest figures also pushed weekly inflows above $1 billion , highlighting renewed interest in Bitcoin funds even as traders remain cautious ahead of key macroeconomic events.

BlackRock and Fidelity Lead Latest Wave of Inflows

The strongest performance among Bitcoin ETFs came from BlackRock’s IBIT , which recorded $235 million in net inflows. Fidelity’s FBTC followed closely with $212.7 million . Combined, the two funds represented the overwhelming majority of the day’s $528.4 million total . Other Bitcoin ETFs posted more modest results. Grayscale and Bitwise together brought in $51.2 million . In contrast, products managed by VanEck, Morgan Stanley, Invesco, and WisdomTree reported no net flows for the session .

Since launching in January 2024, Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated approximately $58 billion in cumulative net inflows . Total net assets across the category now stand at $109.3 billion, underlining how rapidly Bitcoin ETFs have become a major gateway for institutional exposure to the crypto market.

Demand Returns Despite Low Volatility

The recent strength in Bitcoin ETFs comes amid unusually low market volatility . According to K33, Bitcoin’s 28-day realized volatility had declined to 1.2%, placing it near its lowest level of the year. Even so, Bitcoin ETFs have attracted more than $1 billion over three trading sessions this week . Market participants are closely watching the Federal Reserve’s Oct. 28 rate decision and the Nov. 3 U.S. midterm elections, both of which could influence investor sentiment.

Glassnode also noted that buyers stepped in after Bitcoin fell to roughly $80,000 on Oct. 15. The research firm identified a significant concentration of sell orders and liquidation levels between $85,000 and $87,500, creating an area that traders may continue monitoring.

Historical Trends Suggest More Inflows Are Needed

Analysts caution that stronger price appreciation may require Bitcoin ETFs to maintain a steady pace of inflows . Historical rallies were typically accompanied by average daily inflows exceeding $200 million. Although Bitcoin ETFs have regained momentum and recorded several large inflow days recently, current averages remain below the levels observed during previous major advances. Analysts view the latest gains as an encouraging sign , but sustained demand across Bitcoin ETFs will likely be needed to support a stronger and longer-lasting market move.
