Reflection CEO Misha Laskin on launch of new AI model Beam

So beam is a model that advances the western openweight frontier in coding and agentic tasks. Uh it is particularly good in terms of its reasoning efficiency. It's able to solve the same tasks as other comparable models three to four times faster at inference meaning it's faster and cheaper uh for enterprise use. So we really see it as a workhorse enterprise model for coding and agentics tasks. Well, we see a big shift happening right now in terms of I kind of think about it from a AI rental market to an AI ownership market. Okay. Uh closed models is kind of like renting your AI like renting an apartment. And uh as enterprises use AI more um they want to own it as much as possible because it becomes such a big line item. And so we see a big shift happening to open source uh and uh meeting this moment to produce a great American western open model that enterprises can use for their most critical workloads.
