TL;DR
Bitcoin’s hashrate has increased by approximately 45% since July, rising from 726 EH/s to around 1,050 EH/s.
CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju considers the increase in computing power an indirect bullish signal of institutional support for Bitcoin miners.
NIP Group announced the acquisition of mining equipment with 4.47 EH/s of capacity, although shares of several mining companies recorded sharp declines.
Bitcoin ‘s hashrate has recovered by approximately 45% from its July lows , a development that Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of CryptoQuant, considers an indirect bullish signal of institutional investors’ support for mining companies.
The network’s computing power rose from approximately 726 exahashes per second (EH/s) in July to around 1,050 EH/s , according to CryptoQuant data .
Ju explained that a higher hashrate strengthens Bitcoin’s security and its fundamentals as a store of value. He also noted that many publicly traded mining companies receive financial backing from traditional financial institutions.
However, the metric remains below its peak of 1,305 EH/s recorded in October 2025 . Bitcoin is currently trading below $82,000.
Bitcoin hashrate is back in an uptrend, with miners running at full capacity.
Higher hashrate means stronger security and better fundamentals as a store of value.
Public miners are backed by TradFi giants. This is an indirect bullish signal from institutional investors, imo. pic.twitter.com/8OtkBVVGw7

Bitcoin Hashrate Rises as Miners Expand Capacity
Hashrate measures the computing power used to perform cryptographic calculations and secure the network. An increase can indicate that more machines are operating or that miners have deployed more powerful equipment .
Among the companies expanding their capacity is NIP Group , which announced an agreement to acquire already-deployed mining equipment with approximately 4.47 EH/s of computing power.
Once the transaction is completed, the company expects to reach a total capacity of 13.85 EH/s across the three acquisition tranches.
NIP Group currently ranks 16th among publicly traded Bitcoin miners, with 3.11 EH/s of operating capacity. Bitdeer leads the ranking with 79.9 EH/s , according to Ziven data.
Mining Stocks Fall Despite Expanding Capacity
The increase in computing power did not prevent several mining companies from suffering stock market losses.
NIP Group shares fell 6.8% to $6.10 , extending their decline over the past year to approximately 86% .
TeraWulf , Core Scientific, Cipher Mining, and IREN also recorded declines of around 12% during a broad Wall Street selloff.
The declines coincided with higher-than-expected inflation figures, which weighed on shares of mining and artificial intelligence infrastructure companies.
Ki Young Ju’s assessment focuses on institutional financial backing and the expansion of mining capacity. A rising hashrate does not guarantee an increase in Bitcoin’s price , although it means more computing power is being deployed to secure the network.
