The September jobs report for me standing out showing aharp slowdown in hiring with U.S. employers, adding just 29,000 jobs, that was far below the more than 80,000 that expected. While the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.2%.y and August payrolls were revised lower by a combined 60,000 jobs, while wage growth slowed to 3% year over year. That' the weakest pace since 2021. The softer labor market pushed Treasury y lower, boosted stocks as investors scaled back the expectations for another fed rate hike this month. The CME Fedwatch tool now has the chance o October hike at just 21%. For December, it jumps up to a 8 And we got an update from Paramount. Sk. It is set to complete its roughly $110 billion acquisition of Warners. Discovery, and we now know the name of the combined company. It will be called Skydance. It will trade under the ticker SKYD. David Ellison will lead the combined company, and ttel'sa co-CEO as management looks to find rough $6 billion in cost savings while taking on more than80 billion of debt. The deal comes after Paramount, Skydance shares fell sha following the pricing of a $41.4 billion in acquisition re debt, with some of the new bonds carrying interest rates as high as 9.125%. Now, the focus shifts to whether Ellison c integrate two major media companies reduce costs and leverage, and create a stronger streaming and entertainment business without undermining the valuable Paramount and Warner Brothers brands. Sam what stuck out to you on the session today? A couple of tech financing stories stood out to me today. So Broadcom reportedly amassing $60 billion of fresh chip financing. That's according to Bloomberg. It says company and a handful of banks are lookinet the debt package together tp anthropic and other firms access chips and other key infrastructure. The financing has reportedly been taking shape for weeks and is being seen as a test of investor appetite for the AI build Given the recent publicash, tech companies have been raising hundreds of billions of dollars in debt to build data centers, chips and servers. This just adds to that. Separately, Amazon is getting creative about itscing. It seems. The company is reportedly looking to offload $8 billion worth o Nvidia chips to investors through a new vehicle to strengthen balance sheet, according to the Financial Times, Amazon has been talking to investors to gauge it in the deal, which would seethee chips from the special purpose vehicle. The report says the chips have either been bt or leased by Amad are installed in data centers across five states. But heading into next week, hopefully a little bit of a quieter one, but you never know. Molly, what are you going to be looking out for? I'm just watching some earnings. We're going to get a broad look at the consumer at travel demand AI infrastructure. We'll hear from Constellation Brands. Get somelue on alcohol ction and what that looks like. Applied digital also reporting. We'll hear from Levi Strauss and see how the consumer spending on jeans, at least iy algorithm, Levi's keeps popping up. PepsiCo. And then of course, Delta, which is widely considered to be one of the top airliners. So will be a nice read here on how fuelrices are affecting them. But how about you, Sam? Yeah, I think that the macro front goes very much in hand with that, particularly what we'll be ing wI on Monday. We've got exports and imports onay. Obviously that feeds i GDP, FOMC min on Wednesday. And an update on the consumer from the University of Michigan on Friday. As I said, Marley, mean, this very much goes hand in with some of the companies that are going to be reporting next week. As far as, you know, how things are holding up, what the consumer is spending on right now. But it is a much lighter week compared to this week because, as we the market has been unusually sensitive to some of the data lately, somethe soft data as well. I mean, certainly keeping an eye on the Treasury market next week, rticuf the services PMI that we'll be getting on Monday. Absolutely. That is going to wrap up this week of trading for usay, and also going to do it for us on market on close for Sam bodies. I'm Kayden.
