With a CNBC Your Money Minute, I'm Jessica Ettinger. If you're looking to buy a home, shop where the deals are, if you can. Sharp price drops in some spots around the US. >> Parts of Southwest Florida, Texas, most of the COVID post-boom markets um are seeing sharp declines. Uh I live in Miami, Florida. We're seeing quite a bit of days on market for single-family homes. >> That's eXp Realty CEO Leo Pareja on CNBC. >> Even rents are coming down. So, rents are something that, you know, 50-year trajectory tend to go up, uh but depending on the market, we're seeing that >> Yes, it all depends on where you're looking and how you're feeling about your money. >> It's kind of the perfect storm of pressure, right? Cuz the diesel prices translates to pressure at the grocery store, which makes people think twice before spending money. When you think about what drives consumer demand for housing, it's always human condition. We need more space, uh we got relocated to another job, you are coming out of a lease, you have 90 days left on it, you're deciding whether to buy a house. You open the news and you see, like, do you feel good about the macro? That adds to the psychological pressure. >> Pareja says his team is expecting an overall flat year-over-year home sales number for this year, even though 2026 started out optimistically when mortgage rates hit 5.99% back in February before the war.
