Google Cloud has detailed its Multi-party Compute (MPC) service , a tool designed to help financial institutions manage and authorize Bitcoin transactions without giving any single entity access to the complete private key.
The service is currently in preview and is designed for institutional cryptocurrency custody . Its technology distributes transaction authorization and signing among multiple parties, preventing any single participant from exercising full control over the funds.
Google updated the product’s documentation ahead of its MPC Symposium in New York , an event focused on digital asset security . The event brings together representatives from institutions including Morgan Stanley, Citi, Wells Fargo, and OKX , alongside cryptography specialists.
According to its release notes, the company has been working on the tool since at least August 2026. On October 1, it expanded its Bitcoin security rules, adding features to evaluate transaction amounts, identify destination address types, and detect change outputs .
Google Cloud had also explored related technologies through Confidential Space , an environment designed to enable secure computation and information sharing among multiple parties.
For now, the company has not confirmed a general availability date . Its documentation notes that the service remains in preview and may offer limited support.
