Airbnb CEO on AI: I don’t think we are preparing society for what’s to come

I am extremely bullish that ultimately AI is going to create a lot more jobs than it destroys. My concern is that there will be this valley where maybe a lot of jobs will be destroyed before the new jobs are created. And do people want the new jobs and will they be prepared for the new jobs? So there's going to be some like massive societal education. Now we've gone through this with the Industrial Revolution. That happened over a hundred years. Are we prepared to like retrain 300 million Americans over the next 10 years? If they don't even want data centers in their states. I think that you see what I'm saying. I think there needs to be a lot more education. We need to make simpler tools for people. I do not think we are preparing society for what's to come.
