Carnival CEO: We’re ‘maniacal’ on cutting fuel consumption

No, we're not hedged. And clearly fuel prices have have skyrocketed. You know, you can name the stat what 70% up since the start of the year. Look, at the end of the day fuel is an input cost for us. The best thing that we can do to control that cost is to use less, which is why we have been maniacal on cutting our consumption. You know, as a matter of fact, we've cut our unit consumption rate by 26% since 2019. Despite the fact that we are I think 11% bigger than we were in 2019, we're burning double digit less fuel in absolute terms than we were because we focus on the consumption. And when you focus on the consumption, it's not only good for the planet, it is good for the bottom line.
