Tokyo-listed IORE Inc. will sell its entire 151.21 Bitcoin holding and put an estimated ¥1.831 billion into its AI data center business. The board approved the move on Friday. The company said the sale will run from October 30 through the end of November through a crypto asset exchange provider, with market sales possibly split into tranches. The final yen amount depends on prices during that window.
The expected proceeds are below the ¥2.085 billion book value the holding carried at the September 30 market valuation. IORE expects a loss of about ¥254 million and will book it in cost of sales in the third quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027. The company tied the decision to cyber threats it says are spreading across the digital supply chain. It compared the risks and value of holding assets against investing in the business, then reset capital allocation. Proceeds are earmarked for AI data center and AI compute work, the neocloud business, with funds allocated in early December.
Capital Shift to AI Infrastructure
IORE also amended the use of proceeds from stock acquisition rights disclosed on September 9, 2025. The plan now raises AI data center related investment from ¥2.0 billion to ¥2.6 billion. Planned digital asset purchases fall from ¥8.49 billion to ¥7.89 billion. The company said funding needs for the neocloud business will grow as the project takes shape. The crypto budget remains in reduced form. One position stays for now: Hyperliquid (HYPE), which IORE began acquiring in July 2026. The retreat covers Bitcoin alone. Any further effects are due in the second-quarter earnings report on November 16.
The move follows other Japanese listed firms that trimmed Bitcoin positions. Enish sold its entire 8.063 BTC in June for about ¥79.27 million, booking a loss of roughly ¥6.22 million. Convano completed a sale of most crypto holdings by August 10 with a loss of about ¥298 million. Those exits weaken the corporate Bitcoin maximalism that treated holding through cycles as strategy. IORE’s coins sat on the balance sheet of a TradFi name, not a crypto-native firm.
Sale Window and Market Conditions
Bitcoin traded at $77,456 at the time of writing, up 0.4% over 24 hours. The market has softened after a late-October pullback. Support sits at $75,074, with resistance at $78,309. The order is small against roughly $23.5 billion in 24-hour volume, so liquidity is not the main issue. What matters for IORE is the yen price realized before the end of November. The ¥1.831 billion estimate was struck at the October 30 market. A slide toward $75,074 would trim the proceeds, perhaps leaving less cash in hand against the ¥2.6 billion AI data center allocation.
