Sentiment drops as price slips

Social media mood around $XRP has weakened. Crypto analyst Ali Martinez said sentiment toward the token is at its lowest level since July. That comes as $XRP trades near $1.19, after a drop of more than 7% earlier this week. The price move and the sour chatter seem to be feeding each other, though it is hard to say which one is leading.

Martinez thinks the bearish crowd may not be a bad thing. He pointed to a possible inverse head-and-shoulders pattern forming on the chart. The setup is often read as a sign that a downtrend could be ending. In an earlier post, he put the neckline at $1.60. A break above that level, he said, would point to $2.10. $XRP is still well below $1.60, so the pattern remains only a possibility for now.

Schwartz sets rules on replies

Ripple CTO Emeritus David Schwartz is taking a different kind of action. He said he has started blocking users who follow him around X to post replies on other people’s threads. Many of those replies have little to do with crypto. Some accuse him of fraud or call him a scammer. According to Schwartz, the replies flood the followers of the people he is talking to. Some of those followers end up blocking him as a result.

He said he will block users for this whether their post is criticism or a compliment. That may sound harsh, but Schwartz added that he does not mind criticism or accusations when they contain real points instead of slurs and are posted in a relevant place, such as his own threads. He also offered to unblock anyone who promises to stop, even if they absolutely hate him. That leaves room for people who want to argue in good faith.

A thread for builders

A community member asked how builders could bring new $XRP Ledger projects to Schwartz’s attention. The member suggested a weekly thread where newcomers could introduce themselves. Schwartz replied that it was a great idea. He soon opened a thread inviting people to promote their $XRP and $XRP Ledger projects. He also welcomed posts about other crypto projects and even non-crypto ventures.

For now, the market picture and the online mood remain mixed. The chart setup has not been confirmed, and sentiment can turn quickly. Schwartz, meanwhile, is trying to keep his replies useful rather than flooded with spam.
