Crypto analyst Timothy Peterson thinks Bitcoin could set a new all-time high within the next 90 days. He also expects a short-term pullback first, with $77,000 as a possible bottom. That mix of optimism and caution is worth noting because it gives traders two clear levels to watch.

A Historical Pattern Points to a New High

Peterson looked at past Bitcoin cycles. He says that when BTC recovered from a point where it was 50 percent below its all-time high and then rose to 30 percent below the peak, a new record followed every time. In those earlier cases, Bitcoin hit a fresh high within 75 days at the latest. The median wait was just 24 days.

He argues this pattern held under different macroeconomic conditions. In the examples he studied, Bitcoin moved to new highs without first retracing to a new cycle bottom. That is not a guarantee, of course. Markets can change, and past price action does not always repeat. Still, Peterson treats the setup as meaningful.

$88,000 Is the Key Level

Peterson points to $88,000 as the critical threshold. He predicts Bitcoin could move above that level later in October. If it does, he says a new all-time high may be close behind. Breaking through $88,000 would, in his view, mark a shift in momentum.

This is a specific target, and it may not play out on schedule. Bitcoin often moves in ways that frustrate both bulls and bears. But for Peterson, $88,000 is the line that would confirm the next leg up.

A Possible Drop to $77,000

Peterson also addressed how low Bitcoin might go in the current correction. When a user asked whether BTC could fall to the mid-$70,000 range before returning to an uptrend, Peterson named $77,000 as a possible bottom. That would be a notable drop from recent levels, though it would not necessarily break the longer-term trend.

So the near-term picture has two parts. A decline toward $77,000 could come first. Then, if Bitcoin clears $88,000, Peterson expects a run toward a new record. The timeline he offers is within 90 days, with October as an important month to watch.

None of this is investment advice. Bitcoin remains volatile, and analysts can be wrong. Peterson’s view is simply one forecast based on historical patterns and key price levels. Traders should do their own research and manage risk.
