Bitcoin’s recovery remains vulnerable as rising US Treasury yields and withdrawals from spot exchange-traded funds weaken demand.

Crypto’s recent losses contrasted with resilient US equities, which benefited from expectations of strong third-quarter corporate earnings.

Bitcoin traded at $83,488 at the time of writing, down by 0.01% over 24 hours, but a strong rally would require an improvement in both yields and investment flows.

Crypto falls while earnings expectations support stocks

Bitcoin declined 3.2% last week, Ethereum fell 7%, and altcoins lost 2.9%. The S&P 500 gained 1.2%, while the Nasdaq rose 0.2%. The Russell 2000 fell 0.9%, showing that equity strength was not uniform.

Federal Reserve’s September meeting minutes was an important influence on sentiment. The minutes indicated that most officials expected another interest-rate increase before year-end, with no discussion of cuts.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $679 million in net outflows last week, their largest weekly withdrawal since late June.

The redemptions coincided with Bitcoin’s retreat from the $86,000–$87,000 area to a Thursday low near $80,400.

BTC subsequently recovered above $83,000, but the rebound had not developed into a sustained return toward its recent highs.

The decline in recent days suggest that Bitcoin had lost the investment-flow support that helped earlier advances, while equities retained support from earnings expectations.

Treasury yields and CPI remain key tests

For Bitcoin to embark on a sustained recovery, stabilizing long-term Treasury yields and a return to positive spot Bitcoin ETF flows are crucial.

Traders will focus on Wednesday’s September US Consumer Price Index report. The report will determine whether higher energy costs are feeding into core inflation.

Until yields ease and flows improve, Bitcoin to remain highly sensitive to broader risk sentiment, despite its latest rebound.

Bitcoin technical outlook: BTC holds above key EMA supports

Bitcoin is trading near $83,480 on Wednesday, preserving a constructive technical position above its 50-day, 100-day and 200-day exponential moving averages.

However, mixed momentum readings suggest buyers have yet to establish a strong breakout. The $85,000 resistance level remains the next important test for the recovery.

BTC remains above the 50-day EMA at $80,369, the 100-day EMA at $76,641, and the 200-day EMA at $75,685.

These averages provide successive support references beneath the price and suggest that the broader recovery structure remains intact.

Holding above them supports the bullish case, although it does not prevent short-term corrections or guarantee that buyers will defend each level.

Bitcoin’s Relative Strength Index stands near 53, slightly above its neutral midpoint. The reading indicates modest buying momentum without showing overbought conditions or a particularly strong upward trend.

Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence line remains below zero at approximately -445.81. That signals lingering weakness in momentum despite Bitcoin’s position above its major moving averages.

Together, the indicators suggest a constructive price structure with limited confirmation of accelerating demand.

Immediate resistance lies at the horizontal barrier near $85,000. A sustained breakout above that level would strengthen the case for further gains. Failure to clear it could leave Bitcoin consolidating or revisiting support.

On the downside, the 50-day EMA at $80,369 is the first significant dynamic support identified in the analysis.

A deeper pullback would bring the 100-day EMA at $76,641 into focus, followed by the 200-day EMA at $75,685. Traders using crypto exchanges may watch these levels closely for signs of renewed buying interest.

For now, Bitcoin’s position above all three averages favors the broader bullish structure, while stronger momentum is needed to support a convincing move through $85,000.
