CoreWeave (NASDAQ: CRWV) stock has slipped roughly 40% in the past six months, and investors have generally not been happy, especially with the company’s rising debt burden. Cantor Fitzgerald, however, believes the market has got it all wrong.
On October 15, the bank claimed there’s been “a lot of fearmongering” about the cloud-computing company, arguing that now might actually be “one of the most attractive times” to invest, and for more than one reason.
First, Cantor highlighted that all of CoreWeave’s capacity scheduled to come online in 2027 has already been sold, and second, it reminded investors that Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA ), a major supporter of the company since before its 2025 initial public offering ( IPO ), has agreed to backstop any remaining unsold capacity.
Not only that, but Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has also personally expressed confidence in the company, pushing back against concerns surrounding its financial position. Recall also that Nvidia invested $2 billion in CoreWeave In January.
“CoreWeave’s strength is improving every day. I’m optimistic. Their cost of capital is actually decreasing,” Huang told Bloomberg .
These factors, it appears, were enough for the bank to double down on both its “Overweight” rating and $176 CoreWeave stock price, which implies an upside of 150% from the current price of $69.69.

CoreWeave stock is fine, CEO Michael Intrator says
CoreWeave CEO Michael Intrator has also described the market selloff as “irrational” in an internal memo shared with Bloomberg , reaffirming the current business model as viable. Specifically, Intrator said CoreWeave’s contracted deal backlog was sufficient to more than cover its debt obligations.
The CEO attributed some of the recent negative sentiment to broader concerns surrounding artificial intelligence ( AI ) financing, claiming that difficulties faced by rival companies seeking IPOs and debt funding were affecting perceptions of CoreWeave.
Working in Intrator’s favor, several other Wall Street firms have also maintained bullish views . For instance, Bank of America (BofA) reiterated its “Buy” rating and $140 price target on October 14, while raising its revenue estimates for 2027 and 2028. Like Cantor, Deutsche Bank also described the selloff as a buying opportunity, maintaining its Buy rating and $150 price target.
Founders sell $3.3 billion worth of CoreWeave shares since IPO
While analysts and chief executives have defended CoreWeave’s outlook, its co-founders have collectively sold approximately $3.3 billion worth of shares since the company’s IPO. Notably, approximately $2.4 billion of those sales occurred in 2026, with CoreWeave stock having fallen approximately 60% from its June 2025 peak.
Intrator himself sold more than $907 million worth of shares in 2026, while co-founder Brannin McBee sold approximately $1.06 billion, reducing his IPO stake by 40.4%. Co-founder Brian Venturo has further sold more than $1.2 billion worth of CRWV shares since the IPO, including approximately $734 million in the second quarter alone.
While the sales do not necessarily imply that the founders have lost confidence in the company, their scale was sufficient to attract investor attention as the stock faced pressure on all fronts. Accordingly, this contrast between substantial insider selling, slipping share prices, bullish Wall Street calls, and large-backer confidence such as Nvidia only further illustrates the uncertainty surrounding the company.
