Apple reportedly names new M&A chief in latest change under new CEO

We got a bit of a leadership shuffle under CEO John Turnis. Bloomberg reporting that we're getting a new M&A chief coming in. Now, this person is going to replace Adrien Perk who's been in the role for more than a decade now. And who's coming in is someone called Steve Smith. He's going to be this new head of the mergers and acquisitions unit. He's already a part of the Apple team. Now, keep in mind, we haven't seen much M&A from Apple despite a lot of the $ 110 billion cash pile that they're typically putting toward these share buybacks. this might indicate uh a change in the direction of the M&A under John Turners with this new leader uh who's coming in to replace Para. Also keep in mind that the way that the M&A team is reporting, they're moving uh they're moving that unit back under finance for the first time since 2019. So this new report Smith, he's going to be reporting directly to CFO Kevin Breck, who himself has only been in the role for around 18 months now. What I will also say is that we're seeing some changes in terms of the services division under Eddie Q. So, a bit of a shuffle there. Carson Oliver, he's being promoted to VP of the app store. Uh, well, Q has recently taken more of the responsibility across the app store in addition to services. So seeing some changes now that Turnis is in the sea suite.
