China obtained F-35 parts after UPS worker missed an email: Report
Show transcript
China managed to obtain parts from a US F-35 stealth fighter jet after a UPS employee missed an email warning not to route that shipment through Hong Kong. That's according to a Bloomberg report that said that the shipment of the war plane parts was meant to travel to San Francisco through South Korea and then Taiwan, but it was late leaving Australia and was mistakenly routed through Hong Kong in an effort to try and speed up delivery. China seized the parts in Hong Kong and the Pentagon is, in their words, actively working to retrieve them. The incident prompted investigations by the Pentagon and the State Department and US lawmakers have demanded a review of the global supply chain for US armaments.
