Is MARA Selling Bitcoin? Wallets linked to MARA Holdings sent 1,000 BTC, worth about $82.8 million, to Binance and Gate over five days, renewing speculation that the miner may sell part of its Bitcoin treasury. Lookonchain flagged the transfers as the second large MARA-linked movement it had identified in October.
Bitcoin mining company MARA Holdings ( @MARA ) appears to be selling $BTC .

Blockchain records show Bitcoin arriving at addresses associated with Galaxy Digital, Binance and Gate. The earlier October transfer involved 996 BTC, valued at about $81.13 million, moving to a Galaxy Digital address. Lookonchain flagged that movement on October 9, like the latest exchange deposits.
That uncertainty fits a market question about how investors interpret activity around MARA’s crypto-market exposure . The wallet attribution is linked to addresses associated with the company.

Has MARA Ever Sold Its Bitcoin? The 1,000 BTC is a Fraction of Disclosed Holdings
MARA reported holding 35,577 BTC at the end of June, including 9,270 BTC that had been loaned out or pledged as collateral. Against that reported total, the latest 1,000 BTC represents roughly 2.8% of holdings, a meaningful flow to monitor but not a measure of realized selling pressure.
The company had already demonstrated that it will sell Bitcoin when it sees a reason to do so. MARA was selling 2,213 Bitcoin during the second quarter at an average price of $73,078, and separately sold 15,133 BTC in March to fund convertible-debt buybacks.
MARA also said it expected to continue selling Bitcoin opportunistically. That policy makes a sale a plausible interpretation of the exchange deposits, but it does not establish that these particular coins were sold; the distinction is central to assessing the potential supply impact.
For a market already tracking fund flows, persistent Bitcoin ETF outflows provide a separate supply-and-demand consideration.

Bitcoin just breached $83,000, up 1.5% over 24 hours but still down since October 1. The market also shows thin liquidity, weaker ETF demand, and geopolitical risk as October headwinds, conditions that can amplify concern about a potential large seller.
The wider risk backdrop was mixed: Brent crude had fallen more than 2.2% to $107.95 after touching $110, while Nasdaq 100 futures were up 1% and S&P 500 futures had gained 0.7%. Bitcoin’s rebound from lower levels therefore did not remove the near-term question of whether additional miner supply would meet sufficient demand.
MARA’s third-quarter results are the next company reporting checkpoint for how many of the deposited coins, if any, were sold. Until those disclosures or other evidence establish a disposal, the accurate description is an exchange inflow that has stirred fresh Bitcoin selling speculation.
