Investors who put $1,000 into Nvidia (NASDAQ: NVDA ) stock one month ago would now be sitting on a significant loss, as the company’s shares are facing heavy selling pressure.
Nvidia shares are trading at $181.6 at press time, November 6, down 23.53% over the past month, so the original investment would now be worth approximately $764.7.
The figure represents a loss of $235.3, assuming the investment consisted entirely of shares and excluding fees, taxes, and dividends .

Why is Nvidia stock crashing?
The decline has accelerated greatly this week, with NVDA stock falling 9.26% to close at $181.6 on November 5, down from the previous closing price of $200.13. This was the chipmaker’s worst day since January 2025.
As a reslt, the stock is even further below its key technical indicators, such as its 20-day exponential moving average ( MA ) of $211.11. Its ability to reclaim important price levels could determine whether the decline can stabilize. For instance, the daily pivot at $186 represents the first important hurdle, followed by resistance at $191.
Looking at the financial performance, the decline is particularly striking given that the semiconductor company reported 106% year-over-year (Yoy) revenue growth in its most recent quarter, beating revenue expectations by 4.4%.
The problem appears to be the question of whether data center infrastructure can expand quickly enough to sustain that demand. If the data center efforts slows, the companies building these facilities could reduce their orders for Nvidia’s GPUs, potentially undermining one of the strongest drivers of its recent growth.
Wall Street analysts remain bullish
Nevertheless, Wall Street analysts remain considerably more optimistic. The average Nvidia price target stands at $322.5, implying approximately 78% upside from the current share price, according to TipRanks .

If the average NVDA share forecast becomes reality, the $1,000 investment mentioned above will be worth $1,776.43 at some point in 2027. The next major catalyst for that could arrive on November 17, when the company is scheduled to report its third-quarter financial results.
