Best Meme Coins: 9 Checked on CoinGecko

The earlier version of this page ranked ten meme coins. One of them was a presale with no public listing, so no market cap, supply or volume for it could be checked by anyone, then or now. It has been removed. The other 9 are all listed on CoinGecko and were re-read on 13 October 2026, alongside the same low cap screen this site applies to every token list.

This page publishes two numbers for every entry that most best meme coins lists leave out: how much of its value actually trades in a day, and how far below its all-time high it sits. Those two columns decide whether you can leave a position, which matters more than any forecast.

If you are comparing across cap bands, the same two columns applied to the majors screened the same way and to staking platforms ranked make the contrast obvious: the larger the token, the deeper the book, almost without exception.

No price target appears anywhere below. No public directory records future returns, so nothing here pretends to offer one. Every figure was read on 13 October 2026 and is linked to its source.

Key Takeaways

Nine coins, not ten. The presale pick was removed because no public directory lists it, so none of its numbers could be checked.

Every one is far below its peak , from 84.4% down (Comedian) to 98.5% down (Degen).

Liquidity splits the list wide open. Degen turns over about 10% of its market cap daily; Osaka Protocol turns over 0.4%.

Size does not mean tradeable. Shiba Inu is worth $3.06 billion and trades $110 million, a ratio of 0.036.

Dogecoin still leads on both counts , at a $13.18 billion cap with $769 million traded daily.

No return is forecast here. Market cap, volume and drawdown are recorded; upside is not.

How These Meme Coins Were Screened

Low liquidity is the risk nobody prints. A best meme coins list that ranks on narrative can send you into a position you cannot leave, and the market cap on its own will never warn you.

So the entries below were selected and ordered by figures a third party publishes, not by how good the story sounds:

Market cap – what the whole supply is worth at the current price, read from CoinGecko.

24-hour volume – what actually traded, which is the number that decides whether you can exit.

Volume divided by market cap – turnover as a share of size. Under 0.01 means a serious order is a visible part of the day.

Distance from all-time high – what the market once paid, and how far it has fallen since.

Three things are deliberately not scored: roadmaps, partnership announcements and social following. None of the three is recorded by a neutral party, so none can be checked by you after you close this page.

One number does most of the work in this category. Meme coins have no revenue, no treasury and no cash flow to value, so the only hard facts available are how big the market says they are and how much of that size actually trades.

The 9 Best Meme Coins by Market Cap

Ordered largest market cap first. Every figure comes from CoinGecko on 13 October 2026.

1. Dogecoin (DOGE) – the original, and the most liquid

Dogecoin carries a market cap of $13,182,940,991 at CoinGecko rank 12, with $769,236,795 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Website dogecoin.com

Down from all-time high -88.5%

All-time high set 2021-05-07

Last 30 days +0.3%

Last 12 months -59.4%

That gives a volume-to-market-cap ratio of 0.058 , workable for a retail position, thin for a large one.

It trades -88.5% below its all-time high, set on 2021-05-07, so it sits far below the price the market once paid and needs roughly 8.7x to return to that high. Over the last thirty days it is +0.3% and over twelve months -59.4%.

Dogecoin has no supply cap, so new coins are issued continuously. That is a structural headwind no other coin in this list carries in the same form.

Wrong fit for you if you are buying on scarcity. The supply grows every block.

2. Shiba Inu (SHIB) – the second largest, and 94% down

Shiba Inu carries a market cap of $3,060,039,149 at CoinGecko rank 37, with $110,117,182 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Wrong fit for you if you want a liquid exit relative to size; its 0.036 ratio is mid-table at best for a $3 billion cap.

3. Pepe (PEPE) – the strongest book of the mid caps

Pepe carries a market cap of $1,764,729,143 at CoinGecko rank 60, with $317,129,133 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Wrong fit for you if you want something undiscovered. A 0.180 ratio means the market is already watching closely.

4. Bonk (BONK) – the Solana entry, 94.5% below its high

Bonk carries a market cap of $283,310,091 at CoinGecko rank 155, with $37,023,866 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Wrong fit for you if Solana-specific risk is not something you want in the position.

5. Snek (SNEK) – a thin book on a Cardano meme

Snek carries a market cap of $62,136,472 at CoinGecko rank 402, with $1,506,846 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Wrong fit for you if you need to leave quickly. At 0.024 a sizeable order is a visible share of the day.

6. Comedian (BAN) – the newest high, the shallowest fall

Comedian carries a market cap of $59,091,778 at CoinGecko rank 418, with $4,620,685 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

It trades -84.4% below its all-time high, set on 2024-11-18, so it sits far below the price the market once paid and needs roughly 6.4x to return to that high. Over the last thirty days it is -11.6% and over twelve months -0.2%.

Comedian has the shallowest drawdown here at 84.4%. In this category that is not a sign of strength so much as a sign of a recent high.

Wrong fit for you if you want a chart with a full cycle in it to study.

7. Degen (DEGEN) – 98.5% down, with a working book

Degen carries a market cap of $35,445,647 at CoinGecko rank 591, with $3,461,334 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

Degen is 98.5% below its high, the deepest fall in this list, and still turns over roughly 10% of its market cap daily. Falling hard and trading actively are not opposites.

Wrong fit for you if a 98.5% drawdown is more than you want to look at every day.

8. Gigachad (GIGA) – small cap, surprisingly tradeable

Wrong fit for you if a sub-$20M market cap is below your floor.

9. Osaka Protocol (OSAK) – the thinnest book in this list by a distance

Osaka Protocol carries a market cap of $16,684,123 at CoinGecko rank 950, with $63,853 changing hands in the last 24 hours.

It trades -95.0% below its all-time high, set on 2024-03-06, so it has given back almost everything it ever gained and needs a 20x move to see its old high again. Over the last thirty days it is +29.3% and over twelve months -79.9%.

Osaka Protocol is the one to look at hardest. It turns over $63,853 against a $16.68M market cap, a ratio of 0.004, which means a $5,000 position is close to a tenth of a normal trading day.

Wrong fit for you in almost any size. The book here is the thinnest in this list and the exit is the problem, not the entry.

Read the fifth column before the third. A large market cap with a thin book is a valuation you may not be able to realise, and that combination appears more often than most best meme coins roundups admit.

How to use the liquidity column before you buy

Take the amount you are considering and divide it by the 24-hour volume in the table. That fraction is roughly your share of a normal trading day.

Under a fraction of a percent, you are invisible and size is not your constraint. Approaching a few percent, your own order starts setting the price you get. Past ten percent you are no longer trading in a market, you are the market, and the exit price is whatever your selling produces.

Run that arithmetic before you read any recommendation, including this one. It takes a few seconds and rules out more bad outcomes than any amount of project research.

What the drawdown column is really telling you

Recovering a fall is not the mirror of the fall itself. An asset down 50% needs to double. One down 90% needs a tenfold move. One down 99% needs a hundredfold move.

That asymmetry is why the last column matters more than the thirty-day change. A strong month on top of a 95% drawdown is still a long way from where the asset started, and the table above shows exactly how far.

A shallow drawdown deserves the opposite caution. It often means the high is recent rather than recovered, so there is no bear market in the chart to learn anything from.

Who this list is for, and who it is not for

This is for the reader who has already decided to hold something in this category and wants to know, before buying, whether they will be able to sell. That question has a checkable answer and almost nobody publishes it.

It is not a thesis. There is no argument here about which project wins, which technology matters or which community is strongest. Those questions are real and a market-cap table answers none of them.

It is also the wrong page if you want a shortlist of three. The filter is mechanical, it returns what it returns, and cutting further would mean substituting an opinion for the rule that made the list worth reading.

What would change this list

The screen is mechanical, so the answer is mechanical. An entry joins when a public directory lists it and it holds a market cap in this band. It leaves when either stops being true.

A new listing. A token that was a presale last quarter becomes checkable the day a directory starts tracking its supply, and can enter on the next pass.

A delisting or a supply change. If circulating supply stops being tracked, the market cap stops existing and the entry drops out, however the price behaves.

A collapse in turnover. An entry whose volume falls far enough stops being something you could realistically exit, which is the one thing this screen is built to catch.

A rename or a migration. Projects rebrand and tickers change, and a list that is never re-read keeps pointing at a name that no longer exists.

That is why the fetch date sits at the top of this page rather than buried at the bottom. Re-run the two columns yourself in a month and you will have a more current answer than any best meme coins roundup can give you.

What Buyers Get Wrong

Treating rank as liquidity. A high rank with a thin book is common and the rank never says so.

Reading a shallow drawdown as strength. Check whether the high is old or recent first.

Taking a presale pitch as a pick. Nothing third-party records a token before it lists.

Trusting a list with no date. These figures move hourly; an undated market cap is from an unknown moment.

Skipping the source. If the only source for a token’s size is the project itself, that is marketing.

Of the ten pages ranking for this search, 7 could be read in full, and none of them published a liquidity ratio for the coins they recommended. Four of the ten were videos. The gap this page is trying to close is not opinion, it is arithmetic nobody prints.

One more habit is worth building. When a figure in any list surprises you, open the source before you act on the surprise rather than after. A market cap that looks impossibly low for a name you recognise usually means the supply tracking changed, not that you found something the market missed.

The same applies in reverse. A volume figure that looks impossibly high next to a small market cap can mean a new listing, an incentive programme or wash trading, and the directory will not tell you which. Treat it as a question to answer rather than a signal to act on.

A short checklist before you place an order

Check the date on the figures. Anything older than a few days in this market is a different number now.

Divide your intended size by the 24-hour volume. If the answer is more than a few percent, reduce the size rather than hoping.

Read the drawdown, then do the recovery maths. Down 90% needs a tenfold move, not a 90% one.

Confirm the name and ticker still match. Projects rename and old lists do not.

Decide your exit before you enter. In thin books the exit is the hard half of the trade.

None of that is advice about what to buy. It is the arithmetic that decides whether a decision you have already made is executable at the size you have in mind.

Why this screen ranks best meme coins on two numbers and not on potential

Potential is not a measurement. It is a forecast wearing the clothes of one, and no directory publishes it because none can. Size and turnover are measurements, they are published by a third party, and you can re-read both in under a minute.

That choice costs this page something. It cannot tell you which entry will do best, and it will sometimes rank a dull entry above an interesting one. A list of best meme coins built on narrative reads better and tells you less.

What it buys you is that nothing here can quietly rot. A forecast made last year is still sitting on the page looking confident. A market cap from last year is obviously stale the moment you check the date, which is why the date is printed next to every figure.

It also makes the page falsifiable. If a figure above is wrong, the linked profile will show it, and you will know within a minute. Most best meme coins lists cannot be checked at all, which is a feature for whoever wrote them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which are the best meme coins with 100x potential?

No source records future returns, so no honest page can name them. What is recorded is size, daily volume and drawdown, and all nine coins above publish all three. A 100x from here would mean clearing previous peaks by a wide margin after falls of 84% to 98%.

What is the most liquid meme coin right now?

Dogecoin by absolute volume, at $769,236,795 traded in 24 hours. By turnover relative to size, Degen leads at roughly a tenth of its market cap changing hands daily.

Which meme coin in this list is hardest to sell?

Osaka Protocol. It traded $63,853 against a $16,684,123 market cap, a ratio of 0.004, so even a small position is a large share of a normal day.

Why was one of the original ten coins removed?

It was a presale with no CoinGecko listing. Nothing third-party records a token before it lists, so its market cap and supply were unverifiable. This page omits what cannot be checked rather than repeating the seller’s figures.

Is Dogecoin still worth holding compared to newer meme coins?

It is the largest and most traded here, and at 88.5% below its high it is mid-table on drawdown. It also issues new supply forever, which the newer fixed-supply coins do not. Those are the facts; the decision is yours.

How often do these meme coin figures change?

Continuously, and in this category violently. Everything above was read on 13 October 2026. Open the linked CoinGecko profile before acting on any of it.

Final Word on the Best Meme Coins

If you want the deepest book, Dogecoin trades $769 million a day and nothing else here is close in absolute terms.

If you want turnover relative to size, Degen leads at roughly 10% of its market cap daily, despite being 98.5% below its high.

If you are screening small, Gigachad at a $18.99M cap still turns over 12% of itself daily, which is rare at that size.

And if one name here deserves a hard look before any order, it is Osaka Protocol , where the exit rather than the entry is the problem.

And whatever you decide, open the CoinGecko profile and read the figure yourself before you act. Everything above moves while you are reading it.

This article is information, not financial advice. Crypto assets are volatile and you can lose the whole amount you put in. Do your own research and never invest more than you can afford to lose.

Sources, Method and Known Limitations

CoinGecko markets API – market cap, rank, 24-hour volume, supply, price, all-time-high date and drawdown, and 30-day and 12-month change for every entry. Read 13 October 2026.

CoinGecko profile pages – the per-entry profiles behind every figure in the tables above.

CoinGecko category pages – used to confirm that an entry still has a tracked circulating supply, which is what makes a market cap exist at all.

Method. every coin named in the earlier version of this page that holds a public CoinGecko listing, ordered by market cap, with the one unlisted presale removed.

Known limitations. Figures move continuously and were accurate only on the date stated. This screen measures size and tradeability, not quality, and it forecasts nothing.
