TL;DR

Bitcoin rebounded above $81,000 ahead of the October 28 FOMC decision after repeatedly dipping below $80,000, while a later reading placed BTC near $81,280.

Altcoins advanced, with Ether approaching $2,400, XRP moving above $1.30, Solana recovering above $100 and smaller tokens posting sharper percentage gains.

Total crypto market capitalization recovered above $2.71 trillion, but the rebound did not confirm a broader breakout and monetary-policy uncertainty remained unresolved.

Bitcoin rebounded above $81,000 ahead of the October 28 Federal Reserve decision, recovering from repeated dips below $80,000 as broader crypto prices also moved higher. In the initial snapshot, BTC climbed toward $81,650 after touching a five-week low near $79,100 over the weekend. A later reading placed Bitcoin at $81,280.40 . The recovery restored short-term momentum without confirming a broader breakout , keeping Bitcoin’s market role central before the FOMC decision. Its market capitalization returned to $1.63 trillion during the rebound.

Bitcoin Recovery Broadens Across Altcoins Ahead of FOMC

Bitcoin’s rebound followed a difficult week after a rejection near $85,000. The asset fell through $83,000 and $81,000 before briefly losing $80,000, then recovered as risk sentiment improved alongside gains in Asian technology and semiconductor shares. The timing shows crypto strengthening with other risk assets rather than proving equities directly caused the move. The recovery also returned BTC to a zone examined during consolidation around $81,000 , where support and resistance remain tightly contested.

Altcoins participated broadly in the recovery. Ether approached $2,400 in the initial snapshot, XRP moved above $1.30, BNB traded above $750, and Solana recovered from below $100. HYPE, DOGE, XMR and LINK also advanced, while ZEC, NEAR and BCH ranked among stronger large-cap performers. The session showed market breadth improving beyond Bitcoin , echoing earlier periods when altcoins outpaced BTC during macro uncertainty without establishing a lasting altcoin trend. Bitcoin dominance nevertheless remained around the 60% threshold.

Smaller tokens recorded sharper percentage moves. One snapshot showed BTW rising almost 30%, PEPE gaining 16% and M advancing 12%, while another earlier reading placed PEPE’s gain near 9%, illustrating how quickly intraday measurements changed. Total crypto market capitalization recovered more than $40 billion to above $2.71 trillion. Those gains represented a synchronized risk-on rebound across multiple segments , not evidence that every token advanced or that the recent correction had fully reversed ahead of the policy announcement. Larger assets and speculative tokens both participated in the move.

A later market reading showed Ethereum at $2,360.45 , XRP at $1.32 and Solana at $102.54 , while total market capitalization stood near $2.72 trillion. XRP’s recovery also followed its test of $1.30 resistance . The broader rebound remained intact into the later snapshot, but the FOMC decision still represented an unresolved macro catalyst. Prices could therefore remain volatile even after Bitcoin’s recovery above the $81,000 area.
