Cardano has opened the Dijkstra testnet to the public to begin testing its upcoming upgrade to protocol version 12 . Intersect has invited stake pool operators (SPOs) to join the network ahead of the node 11.2 release and subsequent hard fork.
The testnet was restarted on October 21 and is currently running Conway protocol version 11 on node 11.1.3 . Operators can access the configuration files and testnet faucet through Cardano Book.

Cardano’s development team is preparing node version 11.2 , which will include Dijkstra’s features, except for Leios , and enable the upgrade to be deployed on the public testnet. Meanwhile, development continues on version 11.3, whose prototype already includes Leios and can be tested on the Musashi network.
Ouroboros Leios will gradually increase Cardano’s transaction processing capacity . Its activation will first require operators to register new BLS voting keys. The initial target is to achieve three to five times the network’s current throughput, with further increases subject to testing and governance approval.
Dijkstra will also introduce nested transactions, account enhancements, guard scripts, Plutus V4, and freely withdrawable staking rewards . The upgrade will also include the minPoolMargin parameter, which stake pool operators have requested.
