The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong has approved secondary market trading for two ChinaAMC tokenized money market funds through PantherTrade , a trading platform. This marks the first approval of its kind for tokenized public funds in the territory.
The products, identified as CUMFU-USD and CAMFF-HKD , represent full or fractional shares in funds denominated in US dollars and Hong Kong dollars. Both began trading on October 15 and are available to retail and institutional investors.
The authorization allows investors to buy and sell fund shares outside regular trading hours , including evenings and weekends. However, prices will depend on supply and demand and may therefore differ from the funds’ net asset values.
Hong Kong’s SFC has established safeguards including market makers, trading limits, and temporary trading suspensions . Platforms must also update indicative net asset values at least every 15 seconds and issue warnings when prices deviate substantially from those values.
According to the cited figures, the two ChinaAMC funds collectively manage approximately $662.73 million , although that amount refers to the entire funds rather than exclusively to their tokenized shares.
For now, trading volumes and order book depth have not been independently verified . PantherTrade also does not allow users to deposit or withdraw the tokens, a restriction that limits their ability to transfer them outside the platform.
