Mastercard and BVNK launched Global Money Platform on October 15, combining fiat and stablecoin capabilities through a single API. Banks, fintechs and enterprises can embed multi-currency accounts, real-time conversion, stablecoin-linked cards and local bank payouts into their own products, with the platform designed to connect traditional and digital money through one infrastructure layer .
The service integrates Mastercard Move, enabling businesses to use stablecoin balances for local-currency payments into recipients’ bank accounts. Coverage is expected to expand to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories in 2027, while card issuing is available across more than 130 countries. Nuvei, Marqeta, Ontop, Beem and Almond FinTech are among the first companies integrating the platform .
Global Money Platform is already available through BVNK and supports sending, receiving, converting, storing, spending and earning across different forms of money. The next phase will include broader geographic coverage and future support for tokenized deposits and agentic commerce , extending Mastercard’s multi-money strategy beyond stablecoin payments alone.
