NH Nonghyup Bank announced that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on “cooperation for digital asset-based financial services and infrastructure” with MoonPay , a global financial technology company that helps businesses and consumers move value across fiat and digital assets, and Finger, a domestic fintech company.
The agreement combines the financial and technology infrastructure and expertise of the three companies to jointly explore financial and payment services using digital assets, and aims to build a collaborative framework to respond to the rapidly changing digital finance environment.
Key areas of cooperation include:
Developing digital asset-based global financial services
Cross-border remittance and corporate payment and settlement
Exploring new services that link digital assets with card merchant payment infrastructure
Linking global digital asset infrastructure with the domestic financial system
Joint proofs of concept (PoC) and assessment of commercial viability
Building on Nonghyup Bank’s financial infrastructure, MoonPay’s global digital asset network, and Finger’s financial platform technology, the three companies plan to develop a global payment and settlement model. Through this, they aim to make payments more convenient for customers at home and abroad and expand the potential uses of digital asset-based financial services.
An NH Nonghyup Bank official said, “This agreement is the starting point of a new partnership connecting global digital asset infrastructure and domestic financial services,” and added, “By combining each company’s expertise and technology, we will enhance customer convenience and strengthen our competitiveness in global digital finance.”
Meanwhile, Nonghyup Bank is strengthening its foundation for building future financial infrastructure by participating in a range of digital asset-related initiatives, including the Bank of Korea’s “Project Hangang,” the Bank for International Settlements’ (BIS) “Project Agora,” and technical pilots of the global blockchain payment network “Partior.”
