Despite a sharp slowdown following their first full year on the market, Tesla’s Cybertruck sales have reached an estimated 70,788 units in the United States between January 2024 and the end of the third quarter of 2026.
According to data analyzed and calculated by Finbold Research from Cox Automotive and Kelley Blue Book shows, sales peaked at 38,965 units in 2024 before falling to 20,237 in 2025 , marking a 48.1% year-over-year decline of 18,728 units.
The downward trend continued into 2026, with Tesla selling 11,586 Cybertrucks during the first three quarters of the year, a 28% decline compared with the same period in 2025.

Breaking down the sales in 2026 so far, Tesla sold 3,519 Cybertrucks in the first quarter, down 45.1% year-over-year. Second-quarter sales increased to 3,744 units, although they still remained 13.1% below the year-earlier figure.
The upward trend continued in the third quarter, when sales climbed 15%, reaching 4,323 units, or 47 Cybertrucks per day on average. Despite achieving the highest quarterly volume of 2026 so far, though, sales were still down 19.7% year-over-year.
For further comparison, Tesla sold 16,097 Cybertrucks in the first nine months of 2025, which in itself represented a 38% decline from the 25,974 units recorded over the same period in 2024.
Cybertruck sales improved sequentially in 2026
The quarterly figures show that Cybertruck sales have improved sequentially in 2026, with third-quarter sales approximately 22.8% higher than in the first quarter. However, the continued year-over-year declines indicate that the recovery has yet to restore the sales momentum seen during the electric vehicle’s ( EV ) early days.
The combined figures for 2024, 2025, and the first three quarters of 2026 amount to an estimated 70,788 Cybertrucks sold in the United States.
However, the actual number sold since the vehicle’s launch is likely higher, as Tesla began delivering Cybertrucks on November 30, 2023. Those initial deliveries are excluded from Finbold’s calculation due to the lack of comparable sales data for that period.
Looking ahead, Tesla would need to sell another 8,651 Cybertrucks in Q4 2026 to match its 2025 annual sales total of 20,237 vehicles. That would require roughly double the 4,323 units sold in the third quarter, highlighting the scale of the recovery needed to avoid another annual decline.
