Today is arguably one of the most important days for Apple in decades. It’s when the company’s first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo , goes on sale.

But so far Apple’s biggest problem with the device doesn’t seem to be persuading people to buy it. Rather, the company doesn’t have the supply to meet all the demand.

That means Apple fans who want an iPhone Duo on Day 1 may struggle to obtain one. But if you live in certain markets, all is not lost. There’s still a chance you can get your hands on an iPhone Duo today. Here’s what you need to know.

Where Apple will have walk-in iPhone Duos for purchase

When preorders of the iPhone Duo began on October 16, shipping time quickly slipped from days to weeks to months. The same day, Apple confirmed to the Financial Times that demand for the new device was “extraordinary.”

“The preorder demand for iPhone Duo, our first foldable iPhone, has been nothing short of extraordinary,” an Apple spokesperson said, adding that the company was “working hard to get this revolutionary new product into customers’ hands as quickly as possible.”

As of this writing, if you try to order an iPhone Duo from Apple’s website, the earliest ship date for all models is January 22. Yes, next year.

The good news is, you may not have to wait until 2027 to get an iPhone Duo—and you may even be able to pick one up today, if you live in certain markets around the world.

As noted by 9to5Mac, Apple has confirmed that Apple Stores in select countries “will have limited iPhone Duo available for walk-in customers” today.

So, which countries or territories does that include? They are:

Australia

Austria

Belgium

Canada

Germany

Macao

Italy (select Apple Stores only)

Mexico

Netherlands

Singapore

Spain

Sweden

Switzerland

Türkiye

United Kingdom

United States

Of course, don’t expect Apple Stores in these countries to have iPhone Duos flowing off the shelves.

Apple has stressed that any iPhone Duos available to walk-in customers will be “limited,” which means the stores will likely sell out of them earlier in the day rather than later.

Markets that won’t have in-store Duos for sale

The iPhone Duo is going on sale in countries and territories other than those listed above. However, Apple has confirmed it will not have iPhone Duo units available for walk-in customers today at Apple Stores in the following locations:

China

France

Hong Kong

India

Japan

Malaysia

South Korea

Taiwan

Thailand

United Arab Emirates

It’s worth trying carrier stores

Of course, Apple Stores aren’t the only ones selling the iPhone Duo. Carriers will also be selling the foldable directly to customers via contracts.

This means it’s possible that some carriers, like Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, may have units available for walk-in customers in their stores today, but it seems less likely than the local Apple Store having one available.

However, if you really want a Duo today (and don’t mind signing a carrier contract to get one), it’s worth contacting your local Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile to check whether they have any units available.

Check Apple.com on October 24 for in-store pickup options

If you can’t snag an iPhone Duo on Day 1, you’re not necessarily stuck waiting until 2027 to get your hands on Apple’s first foldable device.

On its website, Apple is advising customers who want a Duo sooner rather than later to check the Apple online stores tomorrow, Saturday, October 24, for updated in-store pickup availability.

Apple is no doubt trying to manufacture as many Duos as possible, and as they roll off the assembly lines, Apple will send some units to its retail stores, which means that, despite the lengthy wait times, you may still have a chance to get a Duo before January.
