Tempus AI (NASDAQ: TEM) shares rallied almost 10% on Monday after the healthcare technology company reported stronger-than-expected third-quarter 2026 results.

TEM gained 8.67% to close at $78.48 as accelerating growth in diagnostics, genomic testing and data licensing strengthened the company’s outlook.

Revenue rose 23% year over year to $411.5 million, beating analysts’ $409 million estimate. Adjusted earnings came in at $0.07 per share, ahead of expectations for a $0.08 loss.

Adjusted EBITDA climbed to $25.6 million from $1.5 million a year earlier, while the net loss narrowed to $14.9 million from $80 million.

Diagnostics revenue increased 20% to $303.5 million, while Data & Applications revenue grew 33% to $108.1 million, driven by demand for its clinical and genomic datasets and AI-powered applications. Oncology testing volumes rose 32%, while MRD testing volumes surged 300% to approximately 12,000, reflecting growing demand for personalized cancer monitoring.

Tempus raised its 2026 revenue guidance from $1.6 billion to 1.605 billion, representing approximately 25% annual growth.

Tempus pharmaceutical partnerships

Beyond its latest earnings, Tempus has strengthened its pharmaceutical partnerships, providing additional growth catalysts.

In October, the company announced a five-year agreement with Bristol Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY), worth up to $137.5 million, to license its multimodal oncology data and models. A separate five-year agreement involving Bristol Myers Squibb and Pathos AI covers data licensing for Alzheimer’s disease and dementia patients, valued at $55 million.

Tempus also entered a multi-year collaboration with Merck (NYSE: MRK) and Moderna (NASDAQ: MRNA ) to support the potential commercialization of individualized neoantigen therapies designed to target cancer based on patients’ tumor characteristics.

These agreements have helped push Tempus’ data licensing bookings above $550 million year to date, reflecting growing pharmaceutical demand for its clinical datasets and AI capabilities.

Nancy Pelosi’s Tempus AI investment

Tempus’ rally has also drawn attention to a disclosed investment linked to former U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi .

According to congressional trading data, Pelosi’s spouse exercised 50 Tempus AI call options covering 5,000 shares on January 16, 2026. The options were originally purchased on January 14, 2025, with a strike price of $20 per share.

Disclosed on January 23, the transaction was valued between $50,001 and $100,000 and attributed to Pelosi’s spouse rather than Pelosi directly. It represented the exercise of an existing options position, not necessarily a fresh open-market purchase.

Since the transaction, TEM has gained 11.59%, compared with an 8.68% increase in the S&P 500 ETF (NYSEARCA: SPY).
