A ‘remarkable outcome’: Aviation expert on the Flydubai emergency

Pretty confident that a lot of them thought they this was going to be their last few moments alive. Um that airplane was descending at a rate that is almost impossible to recover from which is another really um remarkable outcome of this that anyone was able to actually gain access, get into the seats and bring that airplane back under control. So, it sounds like what whichever way that happened, the captain did a heroic step there, too, by g- allowing access to the to the cockpit because otherwise no one would have been able to get inside and um obviously the result would have been different. So, a dramatic performance on his part um and the passengers who were willing to help, to assist, and then the pilots that happened to be on board, able to get into the seats and actually get the airplane under control. Cuz that thing was descending at such a speed that um I again, I we don't know exactly how it transpired, what had it start to level off, was it in a turn, well, how fast was it actually descending before they got control of it. But, it would have been a very difficult thing for them to do. So, uh uh we're very fortunate that they were able to control that airplane and get it back on the ground safely with minimal injuries to everyone else on board.
