Amazon’s new Alexa tablet

This is Amazon's completely reimagined line of tablet devices. It's a lot different from the Fire tablets that customers are most likely used to. [music] Amazon has completely redesigned the look and feel of the tablet with a much more premium design, including an aluminum backing and this nano matte display, which Amazon said it completely reimagine the display from the ground up, meaning [music] you can hold this tablet in in light and there won't be any kind of glare or glossiness. >> [music] >> They say it makes for a much more premium experience when you're watching movies or entering into Kindle mode where you read [music] books. It's got Alexa completely infused throughout. So you can access Alexa through Amazon's dynamic tab here or through a chat window at the bottom similar to you know the likes of Chat GPT or Claude. Amazon is really making Alexa the centerpiece of this tablet, not only in the name and just in terms of how this device is designed. It's got a lot of familiar features that folks might be used to with an iPad or an Android tablet in that you can access all your apps from a dock here. Organize them how you like. In addition to entertainment, Amazon is really making productivity a focus of this device. So you can run multiple apps in the same window at one time. Amazon says the camera is good enough to run your Zoom calls and you do have the option for a little more to get a keyboard and a stylus to do even more with this device. Amazon's SVP of devices told us that Amazon is completely reimagining their line of tablets and is doing it at a time when there's been a real wave of AI and computing. He said Amazon spared no expense with the design of this product, but it also comes as device makers are grappling with historic high prices of memory [music] components. And alongside the Alexa tablet, Amazon is also launching a refreshed lineup of kids tablets [music] where they say kids can safely, you know, browse the web, use Alexa in a firewall environment where parents can control what they can [music] and can't see. Amazon's offering three different models for the Alexa tablet. the 8, 11, and the 12. And those will run you between 150 [music] to as much as 550. And the highest end model is this Nano Matte 12, which comes with that matte display. For 450, you'll get the glossier screen version of the 12.
