Your Crocs and your gas tank have something in common. The foam that gives Crocs their iconic look and squishiness comes from a special material called Crosite. And Crosite mostly comes from oil. So when oil prices spike, that means Crocs takes two hits. Once on higher shipping costs and again on the cost of making the clogs. But Crocs hasn't raised the price of its classic clog since 2021. And Bank of America thinks it'll get through this next year without any trouble. That's because Crocs is shifting to using more plant-based waste material. Their goal is to go 50% biio-based by 2030. Less dependence on oil means less exposure when things like the Iran war happen. What began as a sustainability story is now shielding Crocs from an oil shock.
