Gen Z is becoming more interested in learning a trade as AI advances: Thumbtack CEO

We've been talking to young people entering the workforce. Think about people in their 20s. And you know, Thumbtack serves hundreds of thousands of professionals around the country. We're very curious about the state of the labor market. One thing that's been incredibly striking is that as you look back over these last few years, 40% of all pros joining Thumbtack are now under 35. That's a change from what it was previously. And what's notable in our survey is that 50% of Gen Z is saying that they are seriously considering taking a trade or learning it actively already. So there's real interest from those most at risk from AI and job disruption in the trades, which they see as more secure than other professions.
