That is the setup for the day. And we'll have a big week ah as well. Joining me for this conversation Kevin Hanks is live at the Cboe from our playbook chat here. Let's set ups trading day.ve certainly felt the volatility. But it's undeniaat we've been hitting some records. What sa you now. Good morning Nicole. Yeah a very uninspired start to theding week that's for sure. The futures are all pretty close to unchanged within every every futu is within 2/10 of the flat line. Here they are. The E-minis are downy six six and a half points. The Nasdaq da percent. The Russell is actually up anh of a percent. And and and the Dow industrials down less than a 10th. So no big m there in terms of the macro. You'r right. The ten year yield sits e opening here. But crude oil is now back through back below $90. And so down about 1.6% on crude oil futures. Now there's not a lot of top tier economic data out this week. We're in that chasm between end of one earnings season and the beginning of another. We will getsiCo on Thursday, Delta Airlines on Friday, but light in terms of any top tier economic data. I think the fed minutes on Wednesday, because it was such a surprising unanimous vote, will give us something to talk about when the fed minutes come out. But this is a week, Nicole. That will probably finish with a headline that we didn't know yet. And we're waiting f because not a lot of top tier economic data, not a lot of earnings. So we're waiting for headlines to move the macro discussion along. And that will move the markets along. Nicole. But I think it's something that we don't know yet. We'll we'll move the market this week. Right. And looking forward to thosees on Wednesday. Let's seet we get there. Also, you know we'll have a few things maybe OPEC we had an OPEC meeting over the weekend. We'll see whether or not maybe there is some news from that at all. The Stock Exchange really is getome new names there. So we're watching for that. As you noted. We're also a little light on some of the economic news. I think we're going to get a services print, so I'll be watching for that. And any data and ear that you'll be watching here. Let's go through some of those. Well I think today we'll get PMI composite flash in a half hour. And then at 10:00 we'l the I'm ISM services number that the ISM services may dohing. If those numbers come in watch for the prices paid data. You k think as we get closer to ea season, we have to look at who leads off earnings season. Right. October 13th getn Citi, Wells F Well look at the charts on some of those banks. They're pretty up . And so you know you've got something like JP Morgan that's $5 off its highs. So the banks have struggled into earnings season. So that will make them more noticeable when the out with earnings because all those stocks have sold off. Who should be doing well. How about energy stocks. We've now got six months of at or near $8,090 over $100 in crude oil. They should all be coining money up at these levels, especially with the amount of U.S. production. So I want to I'm ready for enings season to come out. It looks itr good one. But b who will lead off earningshat could be a little a little dicey. Nicole. Yeah. Understood. I mean, we'll also be ge the University of Michigan that preliminary print rate. So it's not a print. But I always like to see how folks are feeling in the big picture, particularly as we talk about how the high oil price affected the consumer. We'll hear from Costco this week as well. are they feeling? Are they spending? Are they willing to spend? You know, how worried are they about inflation, gs like there's the sentiment and then there' the numbers and what the numbers are showing our records for the market. there. Any final quick thought Kevin there at the Cboe. Are you ready for a big week. The sentiment data that shows concern on some consumer. We you know we call it the softta.e with what the hard data is like. Consumer spending and the Bank of America consumer checkpoint all showing strong consumer out there. So yeah, I mean, I think this is going to be a macro week wherere watching yields, where we're watching crude oile we're watching the US dollar. Nicole. And of course, as always headlines.
