Meta joins with group of companies to tame ‘chaos’ of doing business with AI bots

Meta now has uh and Meta Platforms I should say more broadly has partnered with a group of companies including Walmart and Stripe developed standards for the way AI agents can interact with businesses. Enterprise AI startup Sierra part of that group. The company was founded by OpenAI chairman Brett Taylor. He's leading uh the initiative. He told CNBC that right now the the way AI agents interact with companies is chaos. The standards would set guidelines for the way AI bots access personal and company data. For example, Amazon has blocked Meta's agents, citing worries of website scraping. OpenAI and Anthropic haven't signed on to that initiative yet, but Taylor told CNBC he expects them to participate. Then there's the sort of maybe even larger issue for a company like an Amazon that has potentially more leverage than others.
