The Trump administration just launched a massive new AI product for the American public. It's called America.gov. Here's what we know about it. >> It's a restoration of America's founding promise and it's a reinvention of your government for the 21st century and beyond. >> The White House says america.gov will give users immediate answers for everything from how to enroll in Medicaid to how to reserve a campsite in US national parks. You'll now have one front door for every single question. Everything will be answered easily and quickly. A digital home built around your time and your life. >> And in time, developers say that the front door will turn into a final destination. Beginning next year, the White House says that many services like renewing a passport can be completed entirely online using America.gov. The White House had a huge roll out. It looked a lot like a Apple store launch. They were trying to really tout all of the capabilities of this new technology. Cabinet members like me Oz and Marco Rubio were there demonstrating the promise. Meanwhile, online, you had a lot of users having fun with it themselves. Really putting the chatbot through the paces. According to the government chatbot, Joe Biden, not Donald Trump, won the presidential election in 2020 and that Trump is barred from running for a third term because of the 22nd amendment. and that human action causes climate change. Joe Gibbia is the quarterback here who really brought this thing to life. He brought on a number of different um software developers into the administration into the National Design Studio, including folks like Peter Arnell, the legendary brand advertiser. And their hope is, [music] in Arnell's words, that they can insert a little bit of love into Americans interactions with the federal government. America.gov is powered by Google's Gemini and by Grock, the AI chatbot developed by Elon Musk's X AI. Developers told me that they've been working on America.gov for [music] months, and the launch comes at a moment when the public is increasingly skeptical of the promises of artificial intelligence. You had the president at the White House with tech [music] leaders basically promising uh that no, this technology will not lead to Armageddon. What's fascinating about the launch currently is that this website is going to be for a lot of Americans their first meaningful interaction with artificial intelligence. Senior administration officials say that America.gov will contribute more to President Trump's legacy than even his favorite project, the White House Ballroom. But Trump bristled at that suggestion. >> If it is the biggest thing I've ever done, I've done a job as president. Okay. But you know what? It's damn It's damn good.
