TL;DR:

Circle integrated cirBTC and EURC into the Circle Gateway unified balance infrastructure, adding them to its initial compatibility with USDC.

The tool enables cross-chain transfers with reported access times of under 500 milliseconds following deposit finalization.

The platform accumulated an all-time processed volume exceeding $10 billion as of October 23, 2026.

Support for cirBTC and EURC on Circle Gateway was announced this Friday , expanding its unified balance model beyond the USDC stablecoin.

cirBTC and EURC join @USDC on Circle Gateway, expanding Circle Interop.

→ One unified balance per asset

→ Crosschain access in under 500ms after deposit finalization

→ The same Gateway integration and experience

The technical deployment allows developers and institutional platforms to maint ain a single balance for each of these assets, facilitating their immediate distribution across multiple networks without the need to pre-fragment capital.

Multichain coverage and idle liquidity mitigation

The infrastructure enabled specific compatibility for each token depending on the destination ecosystem. For cirBTC, an institutional-grade wrapped version of Bitcoin , connectivity spans the Arc and Ethereum networks. In the case of the euro-pegged coin, EURC, availability covers six networks: Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana, and World Chain.

The traditional operating model required market makers, payment providers, and exchanges to calculate the required operational volume on each chain in advance. Circle’s technical records indicate that this practice increased costs due to idle capital and multiplied manual rebalancing tasks.

With the new configuration, Gateway natively mints assets on the destination network at the exact moment the operation is requested. The company’s official documentation notes that this approach aims to reduce reliance on external liquidity provider inventories and avoid third-party bridges.

Additionally, Circle’s data indicates that cross-chain availability time stands below 500 milliseconds following the final confirmation of the deposit on the origin network.

Fee structure and micropayments execution

On the financial side, the company formalized a differentiated fee schedule based on the deployment environment. For transactions executed on the Arc network, Gateway fees on cirBTC and EURC are fully waived during the launch.

Outside of Arc, the established transaction fee is 1 basis point (0.01%) for cirBTC and EURC , while the cost for USDC -denominated transfers remains set at 0.5 basis points.

In parallel, the firm integrated these unified balances into its Nanopayments protocol. This system aggregates off-chain transactions to subsequently settle them in batches on-chain.

This mechanism eliminates gas fees for each individual interaction, retaining charges solely for the final batch settlement. According to Circle’s specifications, the design is presented as an alternative targeted at high-frequency pay-per-use flows and automated transactions for artificial intelligence agents consuming data or computing capacity.

The Unified Balance Kit developer toolkit and application programming interfaces (APIs) already support the new parameters. The company specified that existing processes for USDC transfers and withdrawals experienced no operational changes with this launch.

Oversight framework and upcoming rollouts

The technical development of the platform is handled by Circle Technology Services , LLC (CTS), an entity that operates the system under a non-custodial model via smart contracts.

Under this framework, smart contracts temporarily hold funds without CTS acting as a custodian or financial securities intermediary. The company clarified in its legal report that permissionless withdrawals executed on the platform maintain a mandatory seven-day waiting window for cryptographic security reasons.

At the issuance level, cirBTC is managed by Circle International Bermuda Limited , an entity supervised under a Class F license by the Bermuda Monetary Authority. Meanwhile, the distribution of EURC and USDC continues under current regulatory frameworks in markets where Circle holds active money transmitter licenses.

Corporate records show that Circle Gateway surpassed $10 billion in cumulative processed volume as of October 23, 2026 . The next scheduled milestone is the gradual activation of cirBTC and EURC trading pairs on decentralized applications associated with the Arc network before the end of the current quarter.
