Ripple announced a strategic partnership with Meritz Securities , a South Korean securities firm. This marks its fourth institutional agreement in the country in 2026 and its first with a capital markets company.

The agreement will allow both companies to explore integrating Ripple Custody and tokenization solutions into Meritz’s operations. The company infrastructure provides digital asset custody, transfer, and settlement services for financial institutions.

Meritz is also exploring business opportunities involving spot cryptocurrency ETFs, fractional investments, security tokens, trading platforms, and South Korean won-denominated stablecoins .

For now, these initiatives remain under evaluation , with no confirmed launch dates. The partnership will initially operate under existing securities regulations, with additional services potentially introduced as South Korea’s regulatory framework develops.

The firm had already signed three institutional agreements in South Korea during 2026. In April, Kyobo Life Insurance began exploring the tokenization of government bonds, while Kbank announced plans to implement institutional wallets through Custody.

In August, Jeonbuk Bank adopted Ripple Payments for international transfers.

With Meritz Securities, the company adds the securities sector to its institutional relationships in South Korea, which already span insurance, banking, and cross-border payments.

The company said it operates in more than 60 markets and holds over 85 licenses worldwide.

The announcement does not include any confirmed XRP purchases or an immediate deployment of the XRP Ledger by Meritz Securities.
