SWI Group has put the last three Bitcoin mining facilities operated by Genesis Digital Assets in Kazakhstan up for sale. The company, which previously received funding from FTX , is now controlled by the investment group, which plans to repurpose its energy infrastructure for artificial intelligence data centers.
The company, listed on Euronext Amsterdam under the ticker SWICH , raised €800 million (approximately $894 million) through a capital increase targeting institutional investors. The transaction valued the firm at €6.1 billion .
Its CEO, Max-Hervé George , confirmed that the group intends to exit Bitcoin mining and repurpose Genesis Digital’s facilities in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Sweden to provide computing capacity to companies such as Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud.
These facilities will operate under SWI Digital , a division focused on artificial intelligence infrastructure and high-performance computing.
Genesis Digital had received more than $1 billion from Alameda Research , the trading firm linked to Sam Bankman-Fried, in exchange for approximately 20% of its equity.
Following FTX’s bankruptcy, its administrators filed a lawsuit seeking approximately $1.15 billion related to those investments. The lawsuit was withdrawn on June 15, 2026.
That same day, SWI announced the acquisition of approximately 40% of Genesis Digital for $500 million . The transaction was completed in August, giving the firm 70% of the voting rights.
George stated that the disputes with FTX and other shareholders have already been resolved .
