Zcash is back in the green on Monday after a bearish weekend. The leading privacy coin is trading around $1,200 at press time on Monday as renewed demand for its exchange-traded fund could produce a sustained price recovery.

Despite the slight recovery, Zcash is still down by more than 15% in October. While ETF flows suggest improving investor appetite, the near-term technical picture remains subdued.

ZEC continues to trade below important moving averages on the four-hour chart. Buyers must overcome those initial barriers before challenging the supply zone that limited last week’s rebound.

Grayscale fund ends three-week outflow streak

Grayscale’s Zcash-focused ETF recorded four consecutive daily inflows last week, bringing its weekly total to $41.09 million , according to SoSoValue data.

The positive result followed three straight weeks of withdrawals, marking a reversal in fund flows and suggesting renewed interest in exposure to the privacy coin.

However, the improvement has yet to translate into a convincing upward trend for ZEC. Its price remains under pressure, highlighting the gap between stronger ETF demand and broader market momentum.

The inflows arrive ahead of Zcash’s Network Upgrade 7, or NU7, scheduled for November 5.

On Sunday, the Zcash team announced via X that the planned changes include reducing block confirmation time to 25 seconds and disabling the Sprout pool and its transactions.

The upgrade provides a forthcoming network catalyst, although its timing alone does not establish why investors returned to the fund.

Zcash technical outlook: Moving averages limit ZEC’s recovery

On the four-hour chart, Zcash sits below its 50-period Exponential Moving Average at $1,207 and its 200-period EMA at $1,231.

Both levels represent immediate obstacles for buyers following the retreat from the September 26 high of $1,698. A sustained move above them would improve the short-term setup, but further resistance lies overhead.

Momentum indicators offer a mixed picture. The Relative Strength Index hovers near 47, slightly below the neutral 50 mark, indicating that buyers have yet to establish control.

Meanwhile, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator holds slightly positive near the zero line. That suggests selling pressure may be easing, but it does not yet provide a strong recovery signal.

Beyond the moving averages, $1,268 represents another intermediate hurdle identified in the technical chart.

The larger challenge is the supply zone between $1,296 and $1,385. That area capped last week’s recovery around $1,368 and remains a significant barrier to a sustained advance.

Clearing last week’s high and the upper boundary of that zone would strengthen the bullish case.

If buyers establish support above those levels, the September swing high near $1,698 could become a longer-term recovery target. Until those barriers are overcome, upward moves remain vulnerable to renewed selling.

If Zcash extends its decline, the next notable technical support sits around $1,117, corresponding to the September 4 high. Below that, the psychological $1,000 threshold becomes the next level to watch.

For now, returning ETF inflows offer an encouraging demand signal, but price confirmation remains essential.

Reclaiming the moving averages and breaking through the overhead supply zone would provide stronger evidence that Zcash is moving beyond its recent bearish phase.
