Meta stock enjoys best month since 2022 on AI momentum

The competition between Meta and OpenAI is heating up. During Kate's great interview yesterday with Sara Fryer, Fryer accidentally said Muse, which is Meta's AI tool, instead of OpenAI's dots, and quickly corrected herself. Now, that prompted Alex Wang, Meta's chief AI officer, to take a jab at OpenAI in X, sharing a video of Sara Fryer saying, quote, "It's okay, Sara. Muse is thinking about you, too." Now, while dots is only available for paying customers, Meta's Muse is available for free with the option for power users to pay for a premium subscription. Wall Street seeing this distinction in business models as an advantage for Mark Zuckerberg to continue Meta's stronghold on the consumer market. Now, Sensor Tower, just today, projecting that Muse will surpass 5 million US downloads today. That's in 22 days since launch. It took ChatGPT 56 days to hit that same milestone. Mark Mahaney at RBC saying, quote, "We see Meta with Muse as the clear leader in the personal AI agent space. The longer-term contest will depend on whether Meta can convert its consumer reach into habitual use before OpenAI expands dots to lower-priced and free plans." Now, Meta's shares are up about 27% in the past month on bullishness about that new Muse AI tool. Brian?
