‘Self-driving is key to Tesla’s growth,’ says former president Jon McNeill

Tesla's growing, I think, really because of one feature, and that is self-driving. I can't tell you the number of emails and calls I get on a weekly basis where people say, "I didn't want to buy the car. I don't really like the brand, but I can't live without this full uh full self-driving thing." Had a venture capitalist tell me yesterday that his dad lives in suburban New York, leaves his driveway, hits a button on his full self-driving, and shows up at their apartment in New York. Uh, and there this advanced feature I think might be the beginning of a flip phone to iPhone moment in cars. Uh, with the iPhone equivalent being a car that will drive you for the same price uh, as a car that won't. And I think you're seeing this in the Tesla numbers and it's really driving their sales because they are clearly the leader in a car that you can buy that has this technology.
