All U.S. bombers leave UK air base over security concerns
Show transcript
The United States removed all of its B1 bombers from the UK's Fairford Air Force Base because of security concerns over suspect suspected plots to attack that facility. The United States has used the military base in the UK to launch bomber strikes in Iran. A dozen B1 bombers had been stationed at that base, which is northwest of London. Last week, six people were arrested in connection with a suspected attack on that base that was foiled by law enforcement. The United Kingdom's prime minister has said that there were strong indications Iran played a role in that incident. The suspects were actually released on bail, but UK authorities continue to investigate.
